Interested in learning how to decorate beautiful sugar cookies? Join Ashley McCakes to learn all the basics about sugar cookies, royal icing, and how to decorate your own Instagram-worthy cookies for Halloween.
Everything you'll need is provided in class. You'll leave the class with a better understanding of sugar cookie basics, along with my sugar cookie and royal icing recipes! See below for more details on registration, refunds, & more FAQs. Looking forward to decorating with you!
About the Class
This is the perfect class for beginners, or anyone who is interested to see what goes into those beautifully decorated cookies! We will provide everything you need - cookies, royal icing, & tools - to decorate your own set of 6 Halloween cookies (cookies may vary from photo).
The class will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM - plenty of time to learn, decorate, and ask questions along the way. Come by yourself or invite a friend - it makes a great ladies day out!
The class is perfect adults & teens. If you'd like to share what you learn with younger children (or practice the cookies again on your own at home), our add-on kit is perfect - add it to your cart when you're checking out. The add-on kit is a replicate of the kit you will receive in class. We'll also send you the PowerPoint so you can become the teacher at home!
The class will be held in-home in a South Mills neighborhood. Driveway parking and street parking are available.
FAQs
What will I be doing in class?
You will learn the tools & techniques to decorate your own royal icing cookies. We will also go over icing consistencies & coloring. You will leave with your very own set of 6 decorated Halloween cookies.
Do I need to know how to bake?
Nope! The cookies will be ready-to-decorate. The cookie recipe will be emailed to you after class, so you can try your hand at baking!
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself! All cookies, icing & tools will be provided to you. Feel free to bring an apron (not required).
Can just my child take the class?
Kids 12+ may be dropped off for the class and picked up in 1.5 hours. Kids ages 8-11 are welcome but must be accompanied by a paying adult. Please note: Due to space restrictions, anyone staying with their child will need their own ticket. But don't worry - this class is fun for everyone, so grab a ticket and let's get decorating!
What will I bring home?
You will leave with a box of your very own decorated cookies - they will dry in the box for about 24 hours, then be ready to share & eat!
What if I signed up for a class but I can't make it?
We get it - life happens! We allow you to cancel for a full refund (less Eventbrite fees) up to 7 days before the class. If cancellation occurs less than 7 days prior to class, you can either transfer your spot to a friend (how awesome of you!) or receive a credit redeemable for up to 1 year from credit date. Add-on kits are refundable up to 7 days prior to class. You will receive a credit for any cancelled add-on kits if it is less than 7 but more than 3 days prior to class. We cannot offer credit for add-on kits that are already prepared - if it is less than 3 days prior to class, you are welcome to pick up your kit to take home.
What are your COVID policies?
We will follow current CDC guidelines as closely as possible. Masking is not required for vaccinated individuals. If you have any symptoms within 10 days of the class, we ask that you please cancel. The above policy for refunds and credits still applies.
How many people will be attending the class?
The class will hold up to 10 people. If 4 or more people do not sign up for the class, it will be cancelled. You will be notified at least 3 days prior to the event. If this is the case, you will receive a full refund including all fees.
